Dove And The ARK : Relationship Of The Holy Spirit
The foundation of the relationship of the Holy Spirit with you is the cross of Jesus Christ. All four Gospels record an account of the Holy Spirit descending as a dove upon Jesus during His baptism. Doves represent purity, innocence and gentleness.
“There are nine feathers on the left and right wings of the dove. There are also nine gifts of the Holy Spirit( 1 Cor. 12: 7-10 )and nine fruits of the Spirit ( Gal. 5 : 22-23 ).
There are also five main tail feathers on a dove, which can represent the fivefold ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers( Eph. 4:11 ). The tail feathers of a dove are like the rudder of a ship- they assist in balance and direction in flight, just as the fivefold ministry gifts in the church bring balance to the body of Christ.” – LEONARD RAVENHILL
DOVE AND THE ARK :
But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself. GENESIS 8:9
Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth, and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth. So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore. GENESIS 8:11-12
The Ark sheltered Noah from the wrath of God.
The Ark only had one door.
The Ark only had one window.
The Ark only had one family.
Noah had an assignment in the ark.
The dove lived in the ark.
THE DOVE LEFT THE ARK THREE TIMES:
The first time the dove left the Ark, it found no resting place.
The second time dove left the Ark, it brought an olive leaf.
The third time dove left the Ark, it didn’t come back.
Our relationship with Jesus is the foundation of the Holy Spirit’s relationship with us.
